We’re thrilled to announce that Polymer will be one of the first interoperability solutions to support the Ethereum Foundation’s Open Intents Framework (OIF).
This milestone marks a pivotal step toward unifying Ethereum’s fragmented interoperability landscape—and we’re excited to share how this collaboration will empower developers and users alike.
What is the Open Intents Framework?
The Open Intents Framework is a public goods initiative to standardize how intents are expressed, settled, and executed across the Ethereum ecosystem. By creating a shared language for cross-chain and cross-protocol interactions, the OIF aims to eliminate silos, reduce complexity, and enable seamless interoperability for everyone. More than 30+ leading L2 and infrastructure protocols have joined forces to turn seamless ecosystem-wide interop into a reality.

Polymer’s Day Zero Support: Proving the Way
As early advocates of permissionless interop infrastructure, we’ve worked closely with OIF contributors Hyperlane and Bootnode to ensure Polymer is fully integrated into the framework. Our team contributed Polymer’s intent settlement implementation directly to the OIF codebase, enabling universal compatibility across different chains and apps, while empowering developers to build 7683 intent powered cross-chain dApps without having to reinvent the wheel.

Why This Matters for Ethereum’s Future
Ethereum’s interoperability space has long been fragmented, with teams forced to build custom solutions for every bridge, chain, or protocol. Polymer’s OIF implementation provides proof powered intent settlement for 7683 intents—and Polymer’s Day Zero support ensures developers can tap into this infrastructure immediately.
By adopting the OIF, projects can:
✅ Reduce development overhead with plug-and-play intent settlement.
✅ Improve composability across chains and applications.
✅ Future-proof their stack as the ecosystem evolves.
What’s Next?
Polymer has been an active contributor to both ERC7683 (a proposal to standardize cross-chain intent protocols) and the OIF itself. We believe open frameworks like these are critical to Ethereum’s growth—and we’re proud to help shape a future where any application can leverage intents, anywhere and anyhow.
This is just the beginning. As the OIF evolves, Polymer will continue to innovate at the forefront of intent-based interoperability.
